Top 10 Books for Understanding Osteoporosis and How to Beat It!

osteoporosis-for-dummiesHave you been diagnosed with osteoporosis or its precursor, osteopenia?  Are you confused by the scores accompanying your Dexascan results and wondering what they all mean?  Are you afraid of how the diagnosis will affect your future and your family’s future?

Four years ago I was in that spot, diagnosed with severe osteoporosis.  Stunned at first, I soon started searching for what I should do.  Here are the top 10 books I read that helped me to stop worrying and decide on a course of action:

#1 – Osteoporosis for Dummies by Carolyn Riester O’Connor, MD, and Sharon Perkins, RN

#2 – The Myth of Osteoporosis by Gillian Sanson

#3 – What Your Doctor May Not Tell You about Osteoporosis by Felicia Cosman, M.D.

#4 – The Bone Health Revolution by Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

#5 – Fountain of Youth by Edita Kaye

#6 – The Acid Alkaline Balance Diet by Felicia Drury Kliment

#7 – The Acid Alkaline Food Guide by Dr. Susan E. Brown and Larry Trivieri, Jr.

#8 – Power Sleep by Dr. James B. Maas

#9 – Why Do I Need Whole Food Supplements? by Lorrie Medford, C.N.

#10 – Solved: The Riddle of Illness by Stephen E. Langer, M.D., and James F. Scheer (about managing your thyroid to improve health–including bone health)

I opted to fight osteoporosis naturally through diet and exercise, without pharmaceutical drugs…and I won!   Whatever you decide, I wish you peace, strength, and improved health.

God bless you,
Kathy
